Irwin Arnstein plays a steam pipe calliope September 14 at the Museum of the American Railroad at Fair Park in Dallas. The calliope, which is more than 100 years old, was donated to the museum in 2001 by the family of Alexander P. Clark. Arnstein, a volunteer with the museum for 15 years, helped restore the musical instrument and has performed it since 2002. He will play it for the public on weekends during the State Fair of Texas, which opens later this month.
